While the All-Star break has officially arrived in the MLB, one of our area's pros will be using the time off to switch cities and teams.

Mosley 2005 grad and former Chipola Indian Jaye Chapman was acquired by the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers for cash considerations. The 29 year old right-handed reliever will report to the Rays' Double-A affiliate, the Montgomery Biscuits.

Chapman's path through pro ball started when he was drafted by Atlanta in the 16th round after his senior season with the Dolphins. He spent 2006 in Marianna with Chipola, signing with the Braves after his lone campaign in JUCO ball. After being traded to the Chicago Cubs during the 2012 season, Jaye made his major league debut with the club later that year, making 14 appearances, throwing 12 innings, while putting up a 3.75 ERA and 0-1 record.

Needing double hip surgery in 2013, the Panama City native spent the following year in independent ball with the Bridgeport Bluefish in Connecticut before signing a minor league contract with the Brewers before 2015. For each of the past two seasons, Chapman has spent time with the team's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates in Biloxi and Colorado Springs respectively.
