The Athletics (0-1 overall, 0-1 SEC) led by six points with five minutes left in the game but they couldn’t hold on.
“We are young and inexperienced and will go through some growing pains early,” LP head coach Scott Koenigs said. “The guys played hard but the nerves with a whole new squad showed.”
Joseph Maas had 10 points, three steals and three assists for LP and Nathan Drees had seven points, seven rebounds and four steals.
